Established in 2007, it is the long-haul, low-cost affiliate of the AirAsia Group and currently flies to destinations across the Asia-Pacific region. It operates from its main hub at Terminal 2 (klia2), the low-cost carrier terminal at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia.

As of late 2025, the airline’s main fleet consists of around 18 Airbus A330-300 aircraft, each configured with 12 Premium Flatbed seats and 365 Economy seats. Most of these aircraft are currently activated and in operational service, with additional A330s planned for reactivation and future fleet renewal.
