Passengers travelling with Srilankan Airlines are permitted to carry the following:

Carry-on Baggage

For Business Class passengers, maximum 2 pieces of carry-on baggage is allowed amounting up to 7 kg.

For Economy Class passengers, maximum 1 piece of carry-on baggage is allowed amounting to 7 kg. In addition to this, your carry-on baggage allowance in indicated on your e-ticket.

Each piece of hand baggage must weigh no more than 7 kg and measure no more than a total of 115 cm (l+h+w).

Checked Baggage Allowance

For routings excluding destined to / from North, Central and South America:

Class	Economy	Business
Free Baggage Allowance	30 kgs	40 kgs

Baggage dimension per piece 158 cm / 62 inch (115 cm / 45 inch for infant)

Note: There can be exceptions based on specific periods, routings and fare types. Dimensions = length + height + width

For routings destined to/from North, Central and South America:

Class	Economy	Business
Free Baggage Allowance	23 kgs	32 kgs

Baggage dimension per piece 158 cm / 62 inch. Dimensions = length + height + width

Important: If your journey involves multiple airline partners, please note that baggage allowance may vary from the information provided above.

To avoid extra charges for excess baggage, please make sure to fit your allowed weight into your allowed number of pieces. Any extra weight or number of pieces will be subject to additional fees, provided there is space in the hold for your excess baggage.

Oversized Baggage

Please note that when a piece of baggage exceeds the total dimension of 158cm (height + length + width), a charge of USD50 per oversized bag will be charged. However, the acceptance of such oversized baggage will be subject to the type of aircraft as well. This does not apply to sporting equipment which will be handled separately
