Vietnam Airlines Baggage Allowance

Passengers travelling with Vietnam Airlines are permitted to carry the following:

Carry-on Baggage

Vietnam Airlines passengers are permitted to bring one main cabin bag and one personal item on board.

Economy Class: 1 carry-on bag up to 10 kg

Business Class: 2 carry-on bags with a combined weight of up to 18 kg

Each cabin bag must not exceed 56 × 36 × 23 cm.

A small personal item such as a handbag, laptop bag, or camera is allowed in addition to the main carry-on, provided it fits under the seat in front of you.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Checked baggage entitlement depends on your route, fare type, and cabin class.

Economy Class

• Typically 20 kg to 23 kg (weight concept) or
• 1 piece up to 23 kg (piece concept, selected international routes)

Business Class

• Typically 30 kg to 32 kg or
• 2 pieces up to 32 kg each (selected international routes)

The maximum size for each checked bag must not exceed 158 cm (length + width + height).

To avoid extra charges for excess baggage, please make sure to fit your allowed weight into your allowed number of pieces. Any extra weight or number of pieces will be subject to additional fees, provided there is space in the hold for your excess baggage.

Extra Baggage

Passengers who require additional baggage may pre-purchase extra baggage allowance online or through Vietnam Airlines offices at discounted rates.

To avoid extra charges for excess baggage, please ensure your baggage stays within the permitted weight and number of pieces. Any baggage exceeding the allowance will be subject to additional fees, subject to available space in the aircraft hold.

Extra baggage can be purchased:

• Online via Manage Booking

• Through Vietnam Airlines sales offices

• At airport check-in counters (higher charges may apply)
