Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock
Currently named after Tun Tan
Cheng Lock, the first president of the Malayan Chinese Association (MCA).
Originally named after the fact that the road was a 'Foch Avenue' stretching
across old Kuala Lumpur, previously, Jalan Cheng Lock.
Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock is one of busiest road in Kuala Lumpur and situated
very closed to Chinatown (Jalan Petaling). The most significant iconic landmark along this
road is 'S & M Shopping Arcade', the building stands out with the
spectacular sight of Asia's longest computer graphic mural on the fade.
You will find many little shops offering everything from
clothing, shoes and accessories to souvenirs, music and
books in this Shopping Arcade.
A famous Hokkien Mee stall is
located at the back lane of Lai Foong Restaurant which is
situated along Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock. This stall has been
in existence for 60 years or so (according to the
proprietor) and is now managed by the children of the
original cook.
Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock can be
reach easily by KLIA Taxi for the fare of RM74.30 (budget taxi) and RM102.10
/ RM199.80 for premier and family limo.
