Jalan Maharajalela Jalan Maharajalela Formerly known as Birch Road, it was renamed after Dato' Maharajalela, a local Malay chief during British Malaya era who was partially responsible for Birch's assassination in 1875. In fact it was actually named in honour of E.W. Birch, son of the former and a one-time acting Resident of Selangor.

Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall is the significant iconic landmark in Jalan Maharajalela and it was declared a National Heritage Building in 2007. This building was built through the efforts of a Kuala Lumpur millionaire i.e. Loke Yew, who donated $50,000 British Dollars for erecting it in 1910 during British Malaya era.

The Maharajalela Monorail station also derived from Jalan Maharajalela which is located along this road. Chinatown and 'Chan Clan House' are located within walking distance from this station.
