Auckland Airport (AKL) is the main international gateway to Auckland and the busiest airport in New Zealand. Located approximately 21 km south of Auckland city centre in Māngere, it serves as the country’s primary hub for both international and domestic flights, connecting New Zealand with Australia, Asia, the Pacific Islands, North America, and the Middle East.

Travelers can reach central Auckland via the AirportLink bus connecting to the train network at Puhinui Station, as well as express buses to the city centre. Taxis, ride-hailing services such as Uber, shared shuttles, hotel transfers, and car rentals are widely available. Travel time to downtown Auckland typically ranges from 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic.
