As one of the busiest airports in the world, it serves both domestic and international flights, connecting Beijing with major cities across Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, and the Middle East. It remains a key hub for business, government, and tourism travel.
Facilities
The airport operates three terminals, Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and the large
Terminal 3, which is one of the biggest airport terminals globally. Facilities
include check in counters, self service kiosks, automated immigration clearance,
customs services, and baggage claim areas.
Passengers have access to
numerous airline lounges and premium lounges, as well as extensive retail
outlets and duty free shops. Food and beverage options range from Chinese
restaurants and international dining brands to cafés and fast food outlets. Free
Wi Fi is available throughout the terminals. Additional amenities include
currency exchange counters, ATMs, SIM card kiosks, medical services, luggage
storage, postal services, and VIP services.
Airlines
PEK is a major hub for Air China and an important base for China Eastern Airlines and Hainan Airlines. Other international carriers operating at Beijing Capital include Lufthansa, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, and ANA. Destinations cover major global hubs as well as extensive domestic routes throughout China.
Transportation
Travelers can reach central Beijing via the Airport Express line, which
connects the airport to the city’s subway network. Public buses operate between
the airport and various districts in Beijing.
Taxis are available outside
each terminal, operating on metered fares. Ride hailing services are accessible
through designated pick up points. Private transfers and car rental services are
also available.
Beijing Capital International Airport continues to
upgrade its facilities and services, supporting Beijing’s role as a major
international aviation hub alongside the newer Beijing Daxing International
Airport.
