Beijing Daxing International Airport

Beijing Daxing International Airport (北京大兴国际机场, PKX) is one of the two major international gateways serving Beijing, China’s capital. Located approximately 46 km south of Beijing city center, in the Daxing District, the airport opened in 2019 and is among the world’s largest and most advanced aviation hubs. It serves extensive domestic and international routes, connecting China with Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.

Facilities

The airport features a single, large starfish-shaped terminal that integrates domestic and international departures and arrivals. Facilities include check-in counters, self-service kiosks, automated baggage drop, immigration and customs services, and efficient security screening systems.

Passengers can enjoy a wide range of retail stores and duty-free shops, as well as diverse dining options from Chinese cuisine to international brands. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal. Additional amenities include airline lounges, VIP services, currency exchange, ATMs, medical centers, children’s play areas, and accessible facilities for passengers with reduced mobility.

Airlines

PKX is a major hub for China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines. Other airlines operating at the airport include Air China, Hainan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Qatar Airways. Destinations cover major Chinese cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu, as well as international hubs including London, Doha, Tokyo, Seoul, and Singapore.

Transportation

Beijing Daxing International Airport is well connected to the city via multiple transport options. The high-speed airport express railway links PKX to central Beijing in around 20 minutes. Intercity high-speed trains connect the airport with nearby cities in Hebei Province.

Airport shuttle buses operate to major districts and transport hubs in Beijing. Taxis are available 24 hours a day outside the terminal, and ride-hailing services are widely used. Car rental services and private transfers are also available.

Beijing Daxing International Airport continues to expand its route network and passenger capacity, supporting Beijing’s role as a global aviation and business hub.
