Brunei International Airport

Brunei International Airport (BWN) is the main international gateway to Bandar Seri Begawan and the primary airport serving Brunei. Located approximately 11 km from the city centre in the Brunei-Muara District, it handles both domestic and international flights, connecting Brunei with Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and East Asia.

The airport has a single passenger terminal handling arrivals and departures, with modern amenities designed for traveler comfort. Facilities include check-in counters, self-service kiosks, immigration and customs services, baggage claim, lounges, retail outlets, and duty-free shops.

Food and beverage options range from cafés and quick-service restaurants to sit-down dining, offering both local and international cuisine. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal, along with ATMs, currency exchange counters, and travel assistance desks. The airport also provides facilities for passengers with reduced mobility.

Airlines operating at BWN include Royal Brunei Airlines (the national carrier), Singapore Airlines, AirAsia, and Batik Air Malaysia.

Destinations cover regional hubs such as Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Kota Kinabalu, as well as select long-haul routes to the Middle East.

Transportation

Travelers can reach Bandar Seri Begawan city centre via taxis, ride-hailing services, and private transfers. Hotel shuttles may also be arranged in advance. Public buses operate on limited schedules, so taxis and private transfers are generally the most convenient options. Travel time to central Bandar Seri Begawan is typically around 20 to 25 minutes.
