Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport

Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (杭州萧山国际机场, IATA: HGH) is the main international gateway to Hangzhou, located approximately 27 km east of Hangzhou city center in the Xiaoshan District. As one of China’s busiest airports, it serves both domestic and international flights, connecting Hangzhou to major cities across Asia, Europe, and North America.

Facilities

The airport has a single large passenger terminal divided into Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, connected by shuttle services and airport facilities. Facilities include check-in counters, self-service kiosks, automated baggage drop, immigration and customs services, and baggage claim.

Travelers can enjoy lounges, duty-free shops, retail outlets, cafés, quick-service restaurants, and sit-down dining offering both Chinese and international cuisine. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal, and other amenities include ATMs, currency exchange counters, business centers, and travel assistance desks. Special services for passengers with reduced mobility are also provided.

Airlines operating at HGH include China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Air China, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, and Emirates. Destinations include major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu, as well as international hubs including Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, Bangkok, Frankfurt, London, and Dubai.

Transportation

Travelers can reach Hangzhou city center via the Airport Metro Line, which provides direct access to Hangzhou East Railway Station and central urban areas. Airport shuttle buses connect to key districts and nearby cities.

Taxis are available outside the terminal, and ride-hailing services such as DiDi operate in the region. Car rental services and parking facilities, including short-term and long-term options, are also available.

Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport continues to expand its infrastructure and route network, supporting Hangzhou’s role as a major economic, tourism, and technology hub in eastern China.
