Phuket International Airport

Phuket International Airport (HKT) is the main gateway to Phuket, one of Thailand’s most popular tourist destinations, located approximately 32 km north of Phuket city center. As one of Thailand’s busiest airports, it serves both domestic and international flights, connecting Phuket to major cities across Thailand, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and select long-haul destinations.

The airport has a single terminal complex divided into domestic and international sections, handling arrivals and departures efficiently. Facilities include check-in counters, self-service kiosks, immigration and customs services, baggage claim areas, airline lounges, retail shops, and duty-free outlets. Dining options range from cafés and quick-service restaurants to sit-down Thai and international cuisine. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal, along with ATMs, currency exchange counters, car rental services, and travel assistance desks.

Airlines operating at HKT include Thai Airways, Thai VietJet Air, Thai AirAsia, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Scoot, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, EVA Air, and other international carriers. These airlines offer a mix of full-service and low-cost options. Destinations include domestic hubs such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Krabi, as well as international routes to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei, and seasonal long-haul flights to destinations in Europe and the Middle East.

Transportation

Travelers can reach Phuket city center, Patong Beach, and nearby resorts via taxis, airport limousines, shuttle vans, and private transfers. Ride-hailing services such as Grab are also available. Travel time to Phuket city typically ranges from 40 to 60 minutes depending on traffic and destination. Hotel shuttle services are common for visitors traveling to beach resorts and island destinations.
