Juanda International Airport

Juanda International Airport (SUB) is the main international gateway serving Surabaya and the wider East Java region of Indonesia. It is located in Sedati, Sidoarjo Regency, approximately 12 km south of Surabaya city center.

Opened to replace older facilities and expanded over the years, Juanda International Airport has become one of Indonesia’s busiest airports, providing both domestic and international connections across Southeast Asia and beyond.

Facilities

Juanda International Airport operates two passenger terminals. Terminal 1 primarily serves domestic flights, while Terminal 2 handles international services alongside some domestic flights. The terminals are equipped with modern amenities to enhance passenger comfort, including check-in counters, self-service kiosks, immigration and customs services in the international terminal, baggage claim areas, and information desks.

Travelers can enjoy retail stores, duty-free shops, and a variety of cafés, quick-service restaurants, and sit-down dining options. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal, along with ATMs, currency exchange counters, and banking services. Facilities for disabled passengers, such as wheelchair access and elevators, are provided, and clear signage ensures smooth navigation. On-site parking, taxi stands, bus stops, and rental car services further support passenger convenience.

Airlines

A wide range of full-service and low-cost carriers operate at Juanda International Airport. These include Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Batik Air, Lion Air, AirAsia, and several other international airlines. The airport connects Surabaya to major cities in Indonesia as well as regional hubs such as Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Bangkok, supporting both business and leisure travel.

Transportation

Travelers can reach Surabaya city center and nearby towns via taxis and ride-hailing services like Grab and Gojek, which operate throughout the day. Public buses connect the airport with regional bus terminals, while commuter rail services link the airport area to Surabaya’s main train stations, with shuttle buses facilitating transfers. Many hotels also provide shuttle services or private transfers for added convenience.
