Techo International Airport
KLIA.Info » International Airports » Techo International AirportTecho International Airport (KTI) is Cambodia’s newest international gateway serving the capital region. Located in Kandal Province, approximately 20 km south of central Phnom Penh, the airport is designed to replace Phnom Penh International Airport as the country’s main aviation hub. Developed to handle significantly higher passenger volumes, it is set to become one of Southeast Asia’s largest airports and a key driver of Cambodia’s long term aviation growth.
Facilities
Techo International Airport is being developed with a large scale, modern
passenger terminal designed to handle both domestic and international arrivals
and departures. The airport is planned in phases, with initial capacity
projected at around 13 million passengers per year and future expansion expected
to raise capacity substantially.
Facilities include advanced check in
counters and self service kiosks, automated immigration systems, baggage
handling systems, premium lounges, extensive retail and duty free areas, and a
wide range of food and beverage outlets featuring both Cambodian and
international brands. Free Wi Fi, banking services, currency exchange counters,
medical services, prayer rooms, and business facilities are incorporated into
the terminal design to meet international standards.
Airlines
As the designated replacement for Phnom Penh’s current airport, airlines
operating in the capital region are expected to relocate operations to Techo
International Airport once fully operational. These include
Cambodia Angkor Air,
Cambodia Airways,
Vietnam Airlines,
Thai Airways,
Singapore Airlines,
AirAsia, and
Qatar Airways.
Destinations are expected to cover
major Southeast Asian hubs such as Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hanoi, and
Ho Chi Minh City, as well as long haul routes to East Asia, the Middle East, and
beyond.
Transportation
Ground transportation infrastructure is being developed to connect the
airport efficiently with Phnom Penh and surrounding provinces. Travelers will be
able to access the city center by taxi, ride hailing services, private
transfers, and designated airport shuttle services.
Road upgrades and
expressway links are part of the broader development plan to ensure smooth
connectivity. Future public transport connections may include dedicated bus
services linking the airport with central Phnom Penh.
Techo International
Airport represents a major infrastructure investment for Cambodia and is
designed to position the country as a competitive regional aviation hub. Once
fully operational, it is expected to significantly enhance Cambodia’s
international connectivity and passenger handling capacity.
