Shanghai Pudong International Airport

Shanghai Pudong International Airport (上海浦东国际机场, PVG) is one of China’s busiest and most important aviation hubs, located in Pudong District, Shanghai. It serves as the main international gateway for the city and a key global aviation hub in the Asia-Pacific region, with extensive passenger and cargo operations.

PVG features two main passenger terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, with modern facilities for arrivals, departures, check-in, immigration, lounges, shops, dining options, and services like baggage storage and lost-and-found. Terminal 1 is historically associated with carriers like China Eastern and several international airlines, while Terminal 2 handles additional international and domestic services.

Opened in 1999, the airport handles a large volume of international and domestic flights for major carriers including China Eastern Airlines (its primary hub), Shanghai Airlines, Air China, China Southern, Juneyao Air, Spring Airlines, and international airlines from around the world. It is also a major cargo hub, supporting operations for freight carriers such as FedEx, UPS, and DHL.
